Event Description

Confirmed viable and running.

Whilst building family trees we aim to gather as much information about our ancestors’ lives as possible and very often local history helps us do that. Anyone studying a locality is bound to investigate the people and families who influence the area.

In this online course we’ll consider movement, migration and employment, the records they appear in, focusing on census returns. There will also be the opportunity to look more closely at where our families lived, their surroundings and the people who they may have met regularly. Whilst keeping an eye on the latest website developments we can also refresh basic sources whilst briefly reviewing recording methods.

Course members will be encouraged to share examples of their course work to motivate and also to learn from each other.
